Intelligent 3D parametric bridge models with iterative computational design

OpenBridge Modeler provides 3D parametric modeling capabilities and incorporates multi-disciplinary data into a single model to efficiently design, and produce project deliverables in a dynamic and interactive environment. You can unify roadway engineers, bridge engineers, and contractors from the earliest stages of a bridge project through design revisions and beyond. Referencing existing conditions improves accuracy, eliminates redundant data entry, and identifies constructability issues and conflicts early on.

Create intelligent models and easily manage project changes

Produce intelligent, parametric models rich in engineering content for various bridge components, including concrete compressive strength, structural steel grade, standard beam designations, and more. OpenBridge Modeler reuses data from various stakeholders to ensure relevant, up-to-date geometry all within one model. You can also manage project changes. When reference data changes, the parametric and rule-based bridge model responds automatically, so managing project changes is no longer cumbersome.

Produce deliverables including BrIM and construction data

You can deliver plans, 3D design data, earthwork, reports, visualizations, BIM deliverables, and construction data to meet project requirements. Generate a variety of reports such as deck elevations, beam-seat elevations, material quantities, cost estimates, and Input Echo report to facilitate the evaluation of multiple bridge alternatives, construction sequences, costs, and more. Easily publish project information with a variety of report options.

Enhance visualization of your bridge project

You can help your project team members, stakeholders, and clients better understand the bridge project and design environment with 3D bridge models. Quickly verify bridge geometry and provide plan, elevation, and cross-section views. Measure vertical and horizontal clearances, view time-lapse construction animation, and perform clash detection.

Mitigate risks and perform construction sequence investigation

You can perform conflict analysis of bridge structures with existing infrastructure to eliminate errors prior to construction to save time and reduce costly rework. Easily review phases in stage-wise construction to compare results, detect relevant states, and produce result envelopes for evaluation to solve problems related to creep, shrinkage, and other issues before construction. Plan with real-time traffic simulation, and virtually drive through the 3D corridor model to inspect it for any design deficiencies or physical conflicts. Integrate with Bentley Navigator for design review, construction simulation, and automated clash detection. Interoperate with RM Bridge to evaluate the feasibility of construction sequencing.

OpenBridge Modeler is a native 64-bit application.

Operating System

Windows 11 (64-bit)/ Windows 11 (21H2) - Home, Pro, Enterprise, and Education
Windows 10 (64-bit)/ Windows 10 (21H2) - Home, Pro, Enterprise, and Education
Bentley does not support its software running on Microsoft operating systems versions that Microsoft has "retired". For more information see Microsoft's application retirement policy and the Bentley Application Support Lifecycle .

Processor

Intel or AMD processor 2.5 GHz or greater

Memory

16 GB minimum 32 GB recommended. More memory almost always improves performance, particularly when working with larger models.

Hard Disk

Minimum 25 GB free disk space (Minimum 42 GB disk space if additional companion applications/products included)

Video

See the graphics card manufacturer for latest information on DirectX drivers. 1024 MB of video RAM or higher is recommended. If insufficient video RAM or no graphics card supported by DirectX can be found, OpenRoads Designer attempts to use software emulation. For optimal performance, graphics display color depth should be set to 24-bit or higher. When using a color depth setting of 16-bit, some inconsistencies will be noted.

Screen Resolution

1920 x 1080 or higher

MSAccess 64-bit engine

To connect to an Access database, you must download and install the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable. Use the following link to download and install the MS Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable. This is required for access to gINT projects and for the ability to Import InRoads drainage files.
