OnDemand Training

  • Details of defining material models, slip surfaces and pore water pressures.
  • Details of defining a complete slope-stability analysis.
  • Details of integrating SEEP/W results into SLOPE/W

Presenter: Mohammad Siddiquee

In this course, you will learn about the details of slope stability analysis. The course elaborates different methods of defining material properties, slip surfaces, pore water pressures. It explains the advantages and disadvantages of different slip surface definitions. In this course, you will learn how to integrate other modules of GeoStudio (SEEP/W) with SLOPE/W. In doing so, you can predict the pore water pressure very accurately by using the steady state ground water flow calculation technique utilizing the Finite Element Method. You will be able to predict the factor of safety of steep ground due to heavy monsoon rainfall. The demonstration part of the course will clearly show you the step-by-step details of each method of analysis efficiently. This course will help the user to quickly start producing FoS of the unstable slopes during a construction.

In this training, you will learn:

  1. Fundamentals of the SLOPE/W

  2. Defining Materials

  3. Defining Spatial Functions

  4. Slip Surface Definitions – Grid and Radius Method.

  5. Slip Surface Definitions – Entry and Exit Method.

  6. Slip Surface Definitions – Block Specified Method.

  7. Slip Surface Definitions – Fully Specified Method.

  8. Slip Surface Definitions – Optimization Method.

  9.  Piezometric Lines

  10. SEEP/W Integration

  11. Rainfall Induced Instability

  12. Anchor Reinforcement

  13. Geosynthetic Reinforcement

  14. MCQ
